Bi-weekly Meetings: 1st and 3rd Mondays at CCCS, 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Includes opening ceremony, games, skills development, and prep for adventures.
Monthly Hit-the-Trail: Day hikes, canoeing, fishing, airshows, community service, historic sites, and more.
Quarterly Overnights: Multi-day camping, hiking, and backpacking adventures 3-4 times per year.
All activities follow Trail Life USA safety guidelines with two-deep adult leadership.
We love having visitors and registration is not required before visiting! We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday evenings. The troop forms at 6:30 PM — arrive 10 minutes early for check-in.
Foxes (K-1st grade) require at least one parent/guardian at all meetings and events. A typical meeting includes formation, pledge, announcements, then breakout into patrol groups.

Registration is handled through Trail Life’s online portal called Trail Life Connect. You begin by registering an adult from your household, then register your son and pay the registration fee. Trail Life Connect will be the primary source of communication including calendars, advancement, and notifications.
Annual registration fee with Trail Life USA is $35. Uniform shirts start at $18. Some events and overnights have additional fees. We chose not to have troop dues but instead ask families to prayerfully consider giving to the ministry. Please contact troop leadership if costs are prohibitive.
Moms or female guardians may be present for Foxes (ages 5-6) during meetings, however all direct contact volunteers will be male. All participants and volunteers for events and overnight activities will be male. If your family dynamic makes this difficult, please contact the Troop leadership.
Yes! Calvary Chapel Chester Springs accepts targeted giving for specific ministries. Simply submit your donation and indicate it is for Trail Life.
Absolutely! We would love to have your son come as often as he can. Although attending regularly helps get the most from the program, we understand the pressures of raising a family. We want to build up the family, not become a point of stress.
Trail Life requires a parent/guardian to stay with Foxes (K-1st grade). For older age levels, we encourage fathers/male guardians to participate, but understand this won’t always be possible. We’re happy to take your son under our wings.
Absolutely not! We formed this troop to provide a safe place to experience nature. We understand some children won’t have much outdoor experience.
Please reach out to the church office so we can learn about your son’s needs. We will try to accommodate every boy — we don’t want any of God’s children to feel forgotten or left behind.
We work diligently to keep your son safe. All outdoor adventure has some level of risk, and learning to manage risk is part of the program. Before each activity, a hazard assessment checklist is completed to ensure everyone’s safety.
Yes, the program has uniforms that are worn during various meetings and activities.
